| Earnings continued to pour in this week and again they were generally better than expected. What is noteworthy is that few companies are warning us about a deterioration of earnings next quarter. Even in the banking system earnings have come in better than expected though they have been poor at best.

| Last week we had a market that increased 4.5% from a severe oversold situation the week before. Earnings have started to pour in and they have been good but the economic statistics, of which there was a lot last week, have been, at best, poor.
